Am-Sa

--DESCRIPTION--

• Appearance

  Am-Sa is an average sized Argonian standing at 5 foot eight, with reddish-brown scales. She is lithe and dextrous, fully capable of using all five limbs in combat and self-defense. She decorates her horns like how Man and Mer wear their earrings, solely ornamenting her left horn with various things. Her eyes are a dusty gold colour, allowing her to pass by people by virtue of her ‘ordinary’ appearance.
  
  She walks with a casual pace, with a centre of gravity close to the ground, and is prone to standing straighter and walking with a more upright posture when she comes across taller Argonians to make herself seem taller. Am-Sa is incredibly expressive with her body language, and she sometimes doesn’t realise it. Her voice is mostly harmonious, tending towards a lower resonance, however she cannot hold a tune. She can, however, whistle.

• Demeanour

Am-Sa is incredibly expressive with her body language, and she sometimes doesn’t realise it. Her voice is mostly harmonious, tending towards a lower resonance, however she cannot hold a tune.   Am-Sa can be perceived as rude by others who are not well-acquainted with her personality quirks, often resorting to addressing people as ‘You’ regardless of title or name. This has on more than one occasion lead to tense situations where Am-Sa has not paid the proper respect to dignitaries whilst travelling on the road with Ma’Shassa. This is because Am-Sa repays perceived insults with insults and petty thefts.
  
  

• Personality

  Am-Sa is as clever as they come. She’s also fairly lazy, cunning and opportunistic. She tends to employ her wits solely in the pursuit of avoiding hard work - even if that means tricking some luckless sap into doing it for her. She is quite good at delegating, often backing up her requests with ‘like for like’ trades or offers.
  
  Since a young age, Am-Sa often hoarded things, claiming that she was making up for a lack of things as a child. This has escalated into a difficulty in letting things go, often becoming unnecessarily overburdened. This is not helped by her tendency to ‘borrow’ things from other people and forgetting to return them.
  
  Am-Sa will not readily admit how much her friends mean to her, as she prefers to maintain the illusion that she is emotionally strong, and doesn’t need anyone else to weigh her down. This however, is just an act. The brief moments where she drops the illusion is something she considers a personal weakness. One of Am-Sa’s defining characteristics is that she makes an effort not to speak with a lisp, over-enunciating her words so that she can fit in more with the races of Man and Mer.
  
  Am-Sa maintains that she only has three fears, of which only one of them is known by her friends. This fear of Vampires arose from fireside scary stories told to her as a child in the Windhelm Assemblage of monstrously aged grey-scaled Argonians with bloody red soulless eyes who would feed upon her if she wasn’t good and went outside the Assemblage.
  
  The other two fears, which she keeps close to chest, are Madness and the Unknown. She fears madness because during her time under Kalisha she was cornered by a madman in Leyawiin. Am-Sa’s fear of the Unknown is more complicated than a simple phobia. It prevents her from properly moving on in her life, making her too scared to take the paths that she really wants to because she is afraid of what might lie ahead of her. Am-Sa’s fear of the Unknown was one of the reasons why she dug her heels in at the thought of having to return to Skyrim and eventually face her past.

• Inclinations

  Being raised in both the stagnant Windhelm Assemblage and the cultural melting-pot of Leyawiin during her life so far, Am-Sa has had to adapt to her surroundings so she could survive. Being born on the poorer side of society meant that Am-Sa has often ignored things that she felt didn't concern her, focusing her attention on things that did, such as locating food, warmth and gold. Relocating to Leyawiin at seven years old was a daunting affair for the lone Argonian, and Am-Sa unknowingly became rather rigid in her thinking, yet she easily took to what would be a life of crime by Kalisha (a Redguard Fence) a few days after arriving. Persuaded by the prospect of food, gold and companionship, Am-Sa became a ruffian. Before being dumped in the Fighter's Guild, Am-Sa was judgemental and a little sadistic, finding pleasure in throwing rotten or half-eaten food at passing Nords or Altmer, her personality being affected by the older Argonians in Kalisha's Gang. She would continue this bad habit on throughout her training at the Leyawiin Fight's Guild, and would often throw her fists at the other fighters who would call her names or torment her for her natural lisp, which led to her habit of over-enunciating her words.
  
  Despite being ever present, Am-Sa has never really considered religion as a big part of her life. Not really knowing much of the Argonian religion, Am-Sa is more familiar with the worship of the Eight Divines. While not particularly pious, Am-Sa has picked up a few religious quirks, and is somewhat superstitious. She is inclined towards Nocturnal, the Daedric Prince of midnight, shadows and fortune, and patroness of thieves, however she is more familiar with the aspect of 'Lady Luck' than the Velothi aspect.
